Interactive online maths lesson on Pencil Spaces

Better than a video call

All lessons take place online for convenience and flexibility. We use Pencil Spaces, an interactive platform built specifically for education and far more effective than a simple video call. Students create a free account before their first session.

Interactive Whiteboards: I can see exactly what your child is writing as they do it.
Personalised Feedback: Instant corrections to prevent bad habits from forming.
Homework Integration: All tasks are set, completed, and marked in one place.
Lesson Recordings: Useful for revision and student safety.

Small group lessons

I limit my groups to a maximum of 4 students, grouped with others working at a similar grade level. The atmosphere is fantastic. Students encourage and learn from each other, and each student gets their own private whiteboard so they receive individual attention in a relaxed environment. Homework is set each week and marked on the platform.

"Will my child get enough attention?"
Absolutely. Every student has their own digital whiteboard. I monitor all boards simultaneously, giving individual feedback just like a 1:1 session, but with a more relaxed social dynamic.

"Is homework included?"
Yes. Weekly homework is set on Pencil Spaces to reinforce what we covered in the session.

1:1 lessons

One-on-one lessons build a strong tutor-student relationship, creating a supportive environment where your child feels comfortable asking questions and tackling challenges with confidence. Sessions are built around tailored lesson plans specific to your child's needs, at their own pace.

For students needing intensive support or highly specific exam preparation (focused Edexcel or AQA A Level prep, for example), 1:1 is the right choice.

No rushing. We move on only when your child is ready.
Tailored to the specific exam board and syllabus.
Patient and encouraging. No such thing as a silly question.

Please note: 1:1 availability is often limited due to high demand.

Getting set up

To get started, please complete the student information form. Here's what students need for lessons:

A laptop with a working camera. Cameras should generally be kept on to help build a positive learning relationship; accommodations can always be made for anxiety.
A pen, paper, and calculator for working things out.
For ongoing tutoring, a drawing tablet with a pen (approx. £30) or a tablet with stylus is required for easier on-screen working.

Tuition fees

All standard lessons are 55 minutes long. Shorter sessions are also available: 30-minute lessons at half price, 45-minute lessons at three-quarters of the price.

Prices vary depending on the age group, level, qualification, and which tutor is taking the session. As a guide:

Small group lessons from £35 per session
1:1 lessons from £65 per session

Payments & policies

Trial lessons: The first few lessons can be booked individually on a trial basis to make sure the fit is right.
Ongoing invoicing: Once your child has a regular slot, lessons are invoiced on the 1st of each month for the upcoming month.
Cancellation (1:1): 48 hours' notice required. I'll try to reschedule or roll the credit to the following month.
Cancellation (Group): Group sessions cannot be cancelled, but a recording will be made available and homework still set and marked.
Refund guarantee: If you decide to stop, any unused pre-paid lessons are fully refunded, no questions asked.
